ST. PETERSBURG/MOSCOW, Jun 3 (PRIME) -- Russian Platinum, state development corporation VEB.RF, and VTB Bank have signed a memorandum of intent to finance the Chernogorskoye non-ferrous and precious metals deposit’s development, according to information obtained by PRIME at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on Thursday.

President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters earlier that investment in the deposit can reach 570 billion rubles.

“There will be the first event with participation of the president today. The first and the biggest is a document to be signed by Russian Platinum, VEB.RF, and VTB Bank. A document on development of the Chernogorskoye platinum field in the Krasnoyarsk Region. Investment may amount to up to 570 billion rubles,” Peskov said.

The project is “crucial” for the entire country and for the region from the point of view of taxes, new jobs, export potential and other aspects, Peskov added.
